If you’ve ever wished for an AI that could read a web page, break it down, and answer your questions — good news! Microsoft has a new tool called Copilot Vision, and it might be just what you’re looking for.
Mustafa Suleyman, the CEO of Microsoft AI, announced on Bluesky that Copilot Vision is now officially available to everyone using the Edge browser. It first launched last October as a test, and later became available to paying Copilot Pro users. But now, it’s free for all Edge users — as long as you’re signed in with a Microsoft account.
“Copilot Vision is out now, free in Edge,” Suleyman wrote. “It can literally see what you see on screen (if you opt in). Pretty amazing! It’ll think out loud with you while you browse the web. No more over-explaining, copy-pasting, or struggling to find the right words.”
What Can Copilot Vision Do?
Using AI, Copilot Vision looks at the web page you’re currently on and helps you make sense of it. It can explain what’s on the page, summarize the main points, and answer any questions you have about it.
Let’s say you’re on an Amazon page with a bunch of products — you can ask Copilot which one is the best based on your preferences. Or if you’re looking at a recipe, it can walk you through the steps. Browsing job listings? It can even help you write a tailored cover letter for a specific position.
Any Limitations?
Yes, there are a few. Copilot Vision won’t work on websites with harmful or adult content, and it also can’t scan pages that are locked behind a login. If you’re on a page it can’t read, you’ll see a grayed-out icon with glasses crossed out — that’s Copilot’s way of saying, “Sorry, can’t help here.”
Also, Microsoft says it’s serious about privacy. Your questions and the content Copilot sees on the page aren’t saved or logged. Only Copilot’s responses are stored temporarily — just so Microsoft can check for any unsafe or inappropriate content. Everything else gets wiped once your session ends.
How to Use Copilot Vision
- First, make sure you’re using Microsoft Edge and signed in with your Microsoft account.
- Then click here to open Copilot Vision in Edge.
- In the Copilot sidebar, click the microphone icon.
- The first time you use it, you’ll be asked if you want to allow Copilot to “see” the page. Click Accept.

- In the sidebar, click the glasses icon and start asking questions or request a summary.
That’s it — super simple.
