Google’s Gemini AI, a ground-breaking artificial intelligence model touted as Google’s most sophisticated and adaptable to date, was just unveiled for beating ChatGPT. Its main goal is to improve Google Bard, an AI chatbot. Since Gemini AI is multimodal by design, it can analyze and interpret multiple information formats at once, including text, images, audio, video, and code.
This all-inclusive method improves its comprehension of minute facts, hence augmenting its capacity to address intricate questions. Because of this, Gemini AI excels at helping in more difficult subjects like physics and mathematics by providing concise justifications and explanations.
Gemini AI is available in three different versions: Nano, Pro, and Ultra. Each version is designed to handle varying degrees of complexity. The lowest tier, Nano, is referred to as the “most efficient model for on-device tasks,” which likely indicates that its purpose is to react rapidly to less complex requests.
The top-tier Ultra is “the largest and most capable model for highly complex tasks,” while the Pro version is intended to be “the best model for scaling across a wide range of tasks.”
One notable feature of the Gemini Ultra version is its capacity to understand, articulate, and generate high-quality code in a variety of programming languages, including Python, Java, C++, and Go. Its multilingual skills enable it to navigate and make sense of complex material.
This model performs exceptionally well across a range of coding benchmarks, such as Natural2Code and HumanEval. Notably, author-generated information ranks higher than web-based sources in Natural2Code, a secret Google dataset.
Gemini Pro is a Bard product.
Google has improved Bard, their AI chatbot, by adding a “fine-tuned version” of Gemini Pro. According to Google, this update is anticipated to greatly enhance its capacities in advanced planning, thinking, and comprehension.
Surprisingly, Gemini Pro is said to have outperformed GPT-3.5 in six out of the eight benchmarks that Google has run. Furthermore, Bard, powered by Gemini Pro, has been rated as the best free chatbot in blind assessments carried out by impartial third-party raters. Google hasn’t disclosed which other options were included in this comparison, though.
Bard with Gemini Pro can currently be used for text-based prompts in English in 170 areas, except Europe, where a launch is anticipated shortly. Moreover, early in the next year, Google intends to integrate Gemini Ultra into the Bard Advanced experience.
The Gemini Nano in the Google Pixel 8 Pro
In related news, the Pixel 8 Pro has been revealed as the first smartphone made expressly with Gemini Nano in mind. The Pixel 8 standard is not included in this integration. Notably, the Pixel 8 Pro already uses Gemini Nano in features like Summarize in Recorder and Smart Reply in Gboard.
To improve speed and effectiveness, Google is also starting to incorporate Gemini AI into its search engine. Gemini AI will power several features across more Google services and products in the coming months, such as ads, Chrome, and Duet AI.
