Snapchat has announced that it has reached a major milestone of 750 million Snapchat Monthly Active Users during its 2023 Investor Day. It marks a significant increase from the app’s 600 million monthly active users in April 2022. While Snapchat typically reports its daily active user count in quarterly updates, the monthly numbers provide a broader perspective on the app’s growth and reach, which is now double its daily user count.
Snapchat Monthly Active Users
Snapchat’s current daily active user count stands at 375 million, according to its most recent report. However, Facebook’s daily active user count is much higher at 67% of its total user count, compared to Snapchat’s 50%.
It may be due to the nature of Snapchat’s use for more intimate messaging, which may not necessarily be used daily. Facebook has the advantage of keeping users updated on key milestones and announcements, which likely keeps more of its users returning.
Snapchat’s user growth in North America has remained flat, but it has added 4 million more daily active users in Europe in the last quarter. The app’s most significant growth has been in the ‘Rest of the World’ category, particularly in India, where it reportedly has over 147 million users.
As mobile phone adoption continues to rise in the country, Snapchat is slowly building its presence, providing more revenue opportunities and room for expansion in the future.
While there currently needs to be more revenue opportunities in established and developing markets, Snapchat’s increasing user base is a significant milestone that positions the company well for its plans to develop newer options like advanced AR tools and shopping experiences integrated into the app.
Snapchat’s expanding footprint and growing user base will keep the app in good stead.
