Twitter Blue, the social network’s paid subscription service, is now available in more than 20 additional European countries. These countries include the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, Romania, the Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta, and Cyprus.
With this expansion, Twitter Blue is now available in over 35 countries globally. The service was launched under Elon Musk in December, with a price point of $8 per month, and offered a blue verification mark for paying subscribers.
Twitter later added new features to the service, including the ability to post 60-minute videos and 4,000-character tweets and priority in conversations. Twitter Blue also includes legacy features like an edit tweet functionality, a thread reader, and bookmark folders.
Twitter introduced an annual plan priced at $84 annually to attract more subscribers in January. Recently, the annual plan was also launched on both iOS and Android for $114.
Despite Musk’s hopes of generating significant revenue through subscription plans, early results have not been promising. Estimates and reports indicate that the new Twitter Blue service has fewer than 300,000 subscribers.
In recent weeks, some Twitter users experienced difficulties accessing various parts of the platform, including timelines, searches, and direct messages. These issues occurred after Musk reportedly laid off over 200 employees in a recent round of job cuts.
