Although the Motorola Razr 2022 hasn’t even been out for a whole year (gee, surprise), it looks like we can expect a new model of the Android phone pretty soon if we can believe the boss of Lenovo. The Motorola Razr 2022 demonstrates that the company is aware of the difficulties faced by its previous models and has addressed them all to create a valuable new addition to the series, even though it may not be as competitive as its main competitor.
New Motorola Razr
Motorola has returned after a two-year break to introduce its third-generation foldable Razr. This new iteration showcases the company’s ability to recognize and overcome the most significant issues of its previous models with improved hardware and a lower price point.
The most recent model of the Motorola Razr came out in August of 2022. ‘Soon’ is also vague, but releasing a new model seems strange when it hasn’t even been a year since the last one.
Already a new Motorola Razr with Android?
Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang talked about this anticipated release of the Motorola Razr at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). In addition to the fact that the foldable Android phone must be released ‘soon,’ he did not provide any information about the release date.
Yang did give us something to chew on, though. For example, he states that the reception of the Motorola Razr was good and the new Android model is ‘much better.’ The improvements of the new phone would mainly focus on the hinge and the applications themselves.
It still needs to be more specific. Thanks to folding the Android phone, the line you get will become less visible. It also needs to be clarified what the plans are further. Perhaps more optimization for Android apps in different modes?
Expensive bitches though; those foldable
Phones like the Motorola Razr can also cost a bit. You quickly count down 900 euros for the Android device from 2022. The Lenovo CEO also admits that foldable is fairly expensive but states this will be less likely. As technology improves and the market grows, phones will also cost less.
According to recent research from the International Data Corporation (IDC), the number of foldable smartphones shipped in 2022 was just 1.1 percent and is expected to drop to just 2.8 percent by 2026.
